Diclofenac Potassium (Antiflam Tablets) is knows as a benzeneacetic acid derivative. Diclofenac Potassium (Andtiflam Tablets) Dosage

Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with individual patients treatment goals. Meanwhile, after observing the response to initial therapy with it, the dose and frequency should  adjusted to suit an individual patients needs. On the other hand, for treatment of pain or primary dysmenorrhea; The recommended dosage is 50 mg t.i.d. With experience physicians may find that in some patients an initial dose of 100 MG tab, following by 50 mg doses, will provide better relief . However, for the relief of rheumatoid arthritis; The recommended dosage is 150  200 mg/day in divided doses, 50 mg t.i.d.or q.id.

Most importantly, the medications is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Diclofenac. On the other hand, It should given to patients who have experienced asthma, urticaria or allergic type reactions after taking Aspirin or other NSAIDs. Hematological Effects

Meanwhile, patients on long term treatment with NSAID, including it should have their hemoglobin or hematocrit checked if they exhibit any signs of anemia. NASID inhibit platelet aggregation and have shown to prolong bleeding time in some patients. Unlike Aspin, their effect on platelet function quantitatively less, of shorter duration and reversible. Use During Lactation

Aspirin;

Firstly,  When Diclofenac Potassium (Atniflam) is administered with Aspirin. As a result its protein binding is reduced. The clinical significance of this interaction is not known; however , as with other NSAID , concomitant administration of the medicine and Aspirin is not generally recommended because of the potential of increased adverse effects.

Methotrexate;

After that, NSAID have been reported to competitively inhibit Methotrexate accumulation in rabbit kidney slices. This may indicate that they could enhance the toxicity of Methotrexate .  Caution should be used when NASID are administered concomitantly with Methotrexate.

Cyclosporine;

ACE Inhibitors;

Lithium;

Furthermore, NSAID have produced an elevation of plasma Lithium levels and a reduction in renal Lithium clearance. CYP2C9 Inhibitors or Inducers;

Firstly, Diclofenac is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes, predominantly by CYP2C9.  So, Co administration of the medicine with  CYP2C9 inhibitors (e.g Voriconazole) may enhance , the exposure and toxicity of Diclofenac Potassium (Antiflam). However, co administration with  CYP2C9 inducers (e.g Rifampin) may lead to compromised efficacy of Diclofenac. Therefore, Use caution when dosing of the product with CYP2C9 inhibition or inducers, a dosage adjustment may be warranted.

Meanwhile, Emesis and activated charcoal (60 to 100 g in adult, 1 to 2g /kg in children ) and osmotic cathartic may indicated in patients seen within 4 hours of ingestion with symptoms or following a large overdose ( 5 to 10 time the usual dose). Forced diuresis , alkalinization of urine , hemodialysis or hemoperfusion may not be useful due to high protein binding.
