Fucidin Tablets Properties

Fucidin Tablet 250mg an antibiotic with powerful antibacterial activity against a number of gram-positive microorganisms. Staphylococci, including the strains resistant ot pencillin, methicillin or other antibiotics are particularly susceptible to Fucidin Tablet. Fucidin 250mg Tab shows no cross-resistance to any other antibiotic agent used in clinical practice.

Fucidin Tablet 250mg is widely distributed in the different organism. It has the great clinical treatment importance because Fucidin provides high level supply not only in areas that are well supplied with blood, but also in relatively avascular tissue where the blood supply is less.

Fucidin is metabolized in the liver and mainly excreted in the bile, little or none being excreted through the urine. It generally atoxic and can used in many case where other antibiotics contraindicated.

Fucidin Tab shows no cross hypersensitivity to other antibiotics in clinical use. In severe or deep seated infections and when prolonged therapy required. Fucidin (Fusidic Acid) 250MG Tablets Dosage

Standard Fucidin Tablet Use Dosage for adults and children over 12 years:

Fucidin 500 mg sodium fusidate (2 Tablets) 3 times daily.

Recommended Dosage in Skin And Soft Tissue Infections:

Fucidin 250mg sodium fusidate (1 Tablet) twice a day. The Fucidin Tab dose can doubled in the severe cases.

Fucidin Suspension:

Adults: 15ml of suspension 3 times daily

Children and Infants: 1ml of suspension (50) mg per kg

body weight daily divided into 3 equal doses.

1-5 years: 5 ml 3 times daily

5-12 years: 10 ml 3 times daily

Fucidin metabolized in the liver and excreted mainly through the bile, periodic liver function tests should be carried out. However Reversible jaundice has reported in some patients after administration of Fucidin. Most frequently in patients receiving intravenous Fucidin in high dosage. Fucidin Treatment should restricted to symptomatic and supportive measures. Dialysis of no benefit as the tablets not significantly dialysed.

Fucidin Storage Instructions

Most importantly keep all the medical products tablets, syrups, injection out of the reach of the children. On the other hand protect the tablets from direct sunlight and heat.
