Tercica (Dexibuprofen) Indications & Uses

Dexibuprofen Tablets indicated and used widely in both adults and children patients for the treatment of symptoms like

• Pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis
• Acute symptomatic treatment of pain during menstrual bleeding (Primary dysmenorrhea)
• Mild to moderate pain, such as pain in the muscles and joints and dental pain
• It may be used as an antipyretic to reduce fever

Tercica (Dexibuprofen) Contraindications

Best Dexibuprofen Syrup / Tablets should not administered to:

• Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or other non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs
• The Patients with active or suspected gastrointestinal or history of recurrent gastrointestinal ulcer
• Patients with have gastrointestinal bleeding or other active bleeding or bleeding disorders
• The Patients with Crohn disease or active ulcerative colitis
• Patients with severe renal dysfunction (GFR)  30 min )
• The Patients with hemorrhagic diathesis and other coagulation disorders, or patients receiving anticoagulant therapy
• From the beginning of 6 month of pregnancy

Symptoms or history of gastro-intestinal, asthma, impaired hepatic, cardiac or renal function. However, NSAID may mask infection or temporarily inhibit platelet aggregation. Anticoagulants

However, the effects of anticoagulants on bleeding time can be potentiated by NSAID. Meanwhile, If concomitant treatment can not be avoided blood coagulation tests (INR, bleeding time should be performed  during the initiation of this medication treatment and the dosage of the anticoagulant should be adjusted if necessary .

Methotrexate Used At Dose Of 15 MG/Week Or More

If NSAID and methotrexate are given within 24 hours of each other plasma levels of methotrexate increase. Via a reduction in its renal clearance thus increase the potential for methotrexate toxicity. Therefore, in patients receiving high dose treatment with methotrexate, the concomitant use of Dexibuprofen not recommended .

Lithium

Meanwhile, NSAID can increase the plasma levels of lithium, by reducing its renal clearance. However, the combination  not recommended. Most importantly, frequent lithium monitoring should performed. Meanwhile, the possibility of reducing the dose of lithium should be considered . Other NSAID and salicylates (Acetysalicylic acid at doses above those used for anti thrombotic treatment , approximately 100 mg/ day). Meanwhile, the concomitant use with other NSAID should avoided, since simultaneous of different NSAID can increase the risk of gastrointestinal ulceration and hemorrhage.

For osteoarthritis However, the usual dose is 400 mg tablet 2 time a day. But, for acute symptoms, the dose may be increased to 400 mg tablet 4 times a day For Primary Dysmenorrhoea The usual dose is 400 mg tablet 2 time a day For Mild To Moderate Pain The usual dose is 200 mg tablet 2 times a day. However, If needed the dose may increased to 400 mg tablet 3 times a day

Hepatic dysfunction

Meanwhile, patients with mild to moderate hepatic dysfunction should start therapy at reduced doses and closely monitored . But, it should not used in patients with severe hepatic dysfunction

Renal dysfunction

However, the initial dosage should reduced in patients with  mild to moderate renal function. On the other hand, the medicine should not used in  patients with severe renal dysfunction.
