Combivair Tablets 200MG 400MG Capsules Uses & Indications
Tab Combivair is use in the form of tablets capsules or inhaler for the regular treatment of asthma patients of all ages. Where the use of a combination (long action beta-agonist and inhaled corticosteroid) has been found to become more beneficial than any other ingredients and components available in the market with several other brand names.
Moreover, the symptomatic treatment of severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with a history of repeated exacerbation despite regular therapy with long action bronchodilators. However, it is not used for the treatment of acute bronchospasms.
Combivair Forte Tab 200mg 400mg Cap Dosage & Administration
Generally Combivair Forte Tablets and Capsules are intended for use though Revolizer or Rotahaler only are not to be swallowed. So the dosage is individual and adjusted according to disease severity in the specific patients after the careful examine by the pharmacist or your doctor. Meanwhile when you use this medication and the control has been achieved, the dose should be titration to the lowest effective dose in such patients. Dosage For Asthma Patients
- Adults 18 year or older
Use 200mg 1 or 2 rotacaps twice daily. A maximum dose is 4 capsules twice daily only. Or use one capsule of 400mg twice daily. And remember that only 2 cap is the maximum dose for these patients.
- Adolescent 12 year to 17 year
You can use 1 or 2 200mg tablets or capsules twice daily in such patients. Or use 1 rotacap twice daily in such patients.
- Children 6 year to 11 year
Only 1 200mg tab or cap should use in these patients twice daily. And you can also use 1 cap of 400mg twice daily in these patients.
- Children 6 year to 11 year (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Use 2 tab or cap 200mg for the treatment of COPD twice daily in child patients. On the other hand, use 1 400 mg rotacap twice daily for the treatment of such symptoms.
Contraindications For The Use Of This Medicine
This medication is contraindication in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any o the component o the drug product.
Use This Medicine With Other Medications
Even though plasma levels of this medicine is very low, potential interaction with other substrates or inhibitor of CYP3A4 cannot be excluded, both non-selective beta-blockers should be avoided in patients with asthma, Unless there are compelling reasons for there use. Concomitant use of other beta-adrenergic containing drug can have a potentially additive effect. Electrocardiographic change and or hypokalemia associated with non potassium sparing diuretics may worsen with concomitant beta agonist. Monoamine Oxidase inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressant may potentiate effect of Formoterol on vascular system. Caution should be exercised when considering co- administration of the medicine with long-term ketoconazole, and other known strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g. ritonavir, atazanavir, clarithromycin, indinavir, itraconazole, nefazodone, saquinavir, telithromycin).
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category C

Formoterol
Tremor, palpitation and headache, have reported, but tend to be transient and reduce with regular therapy. Cardiac arrhythmias, muscle cramps and hypersensitivity reaction, including rash, oedema and angioedema may occur in some patients.
Budesonide
Hoarseness and candidiasis (thrush) of the month and throat can occur in some patients. Cutaneous hypersensitivity reaction have also reported. Both Hoarseness and incidence of candidiasis may be relieved by gargling with water after use of Combivair 200mg or 400mg. Symptomatic candidiasis can treated with topical anti-fungal therapy whilst continuing with these capsules.
Overdosage Symptoms & Treatment
The sign and symptoms of this medicine overdose are tremor, headache and tachycardia. The preferred antidotes cardio selective beta-blocking agents, which should used with caution in patient with a history of bronchospasm. If higher than recommended dosage in continued over prolonged period, some degree of adrenal suppression may result. Monitoring of adrenal reserve may be necessary in only some cases.
